Old books
I've spent the last couple days going over some books I wrote when I was young. Several from when I was a teen, and a couple from when I very first started writing when I was eight. The first book I ever wrote, besides the school assignment that got me started writing in the first place, was a coming of age story about a girl. It was set in the future, after a large scale nuclear world war. Her, and all the other survivors were all in gangs, fighting for survival against each other and the elements, but mostly it was about her internal struggle and relationships with others in her gangs. It amazed me to read it, because I know how old I was when I wrote it. I was a creative kid, and I had a lot of great ideas, even if I didn't know how to present them the right way. Another one I really liked, was about a girl sent to a far away school, the whole thing set in a fantasy type setting. The school has a huge and disturbing history and prophesies revolve around this girl, a servant and a teacher. It's a high adventure story with some horror mixed in. (yes, I was a disturbed child) I read through several more, but these are the two I decided I really wanted to work on and revive and revamp. they both have A LOT of potential and my mind is swimming with all the things I can change to make them more fun and a better read. I'll post more later, give more detail about both along with some of the other books from my past. (there are hundreds)
